Our Westlake Eye Care Services
Turn to Kovesdy Family Eyecare for your regular eye and vision exams. Our exams are comprehensive and include a visual acuity, eye function, and eye health test. Dr. Jeffrey Kovesdy evaluates your distance sight, peripheral vision, eye muscle capabilities, focus, and ocular structures. With tonometry, he measures your intraocular pressure for signs of glaucoma. Sports vision testing is also available for athletes. This testing assesses depth perception, eye tracking and hand-eye coordination.
Dr. Jeffrey Kovesdy implements a variety of treatment plans for eye diseases. Depending on your eye condition, he may recommend trabeculectomy, laser therapy, or electrocautery. Cateract surgery may be needed to remove the clouded lens and replace it with a clear artificial lens. Prior to any eye surgery, advanced diagnostic testing is performed to ensure that you are a good candidate for eye surgery. All eye surgeries are outpatient and patients receive a local anesthetic. We also provide patients with detailed aftercare instructions and schedule follow-up appointments to monitor progress. Whether it’s macular degeneration, cataracts or glaucoma, your treatment plan is individualized to best meet your needs.

State of the Art Treatment at Kovesdy Family Eyecare
Glaucoma causes intraocular pressure, damage to the optic nerve and can result in blindness. Dr. Jeffrey Kovesdy will perform a procedure called tonometry to check for eye pressure to test for glaucoma. Tonometry measures intraocular pressure by recording the resistance of the cornea to pressure. Eye drops are used to numb the surface of the eye, and it is a painless procedure. Glaucoma eye drops like beta-blockers and prostaglandins may be prescribed and are often effective at controlling intraocular pressure. When eye drops don’t work, Dr. Jeffrey Kovesdy may recommend other treatments, such as laser therapy, trabeculectomy, or electrocautery.
